Frequently Asked Questions

Why "Option 2"?

For starters, if Option 1 was still working the way you envisioned, you likely wouldn't be here right now, and there's no shame in admitting you don't know something when you've never been there. But why Option 2, LLC specifically? That's for you to decide, there's different reasons for different people. But if you want candid advice from someone who's walked in your shoes and genuinely wants to be a part of your success, you probably don't need to look for option 3.

Do you only work with businesses in Tampa Bay?

Tampa Bay is home base and local partnerships are our primary focus, but we're open to working with anyone who is a good fit, regardless of location. Whether it requires regular travel, remote work, or a combination of both, it either works or it doesn't. Let's work that out together.

What industries do you work with?

Our background is in blue-collar trades and service businesses, things like HVAC, plumbing, auto repair, and similar hands-on operations, along with real estate and other sales-driven small businesses. Whether you sell the mower or run it, if your business runs on hard work and real relationships rather than a corporate playbook, we're likely a fit.

I don't know if I can afford a consultant, what's this going to cost me?

More affordable than you probably think, and more flexible too. We offer a few different ways to work together: hourly, project-based, retainer, and for the right fit, equity partnership instead of a traditional fee. If you just need a low-cost way to get started, we also offer short, focused sessions, as little as an hour or two a month, so you're not committing to a big engagement just to get real advice.

And to prove we mean what we say: your first consultation includes one free solution to a real problem you're facing, no strings attached. If we're the right fit going forward, great. If not, you still walked away with something useful.

Is there a long-term agreement required?

In many cases, no. However, there are scenarios where an agreed-upon term protects you as the client as much or more than it protects us. Our mission is to be fair and transparent, and we'll walk through what makes sense based on the specific needs of your business.

"The consultant always gets paid first," so how do I know I can trust the advice?

Usually, yes. That's the traditional model: fees collected regardless of outcome, with no real skin in the game. It's a big part of why so many business owners are skeptical of consultants in the first place, and honestly, they should be.

That's why Option 2, LLC offers alternative paths. Sometimes we structure our services around equity instead of billable hours or a flat fee. This doesn't change the advice, we'll give you the same straight answers either way, anything less would be unethical. What it changes is our commitment. An equity stake means we're not just advising your business, we're invested in where it goes long after the engagement ends.

That said, this isn't offered to everyone. An equity partnership means we're taking a real stake in you, and your business, so it's reserved for the right fit, not a standard add-on.

What does the first conversation with Option 2, LLC look like?

No sales pitch, no pressure. Just a direct conversation about where your business is, where you want it to go, and whether Option 2, LLC makes sense to help get you there. We'll even solve one real problem for you, free, so you walk away with something useful either way.
